Applying for a replacement passport

To replace a lost, damaged or stolen passport, please prepare the following documents for submission to the Maldives Mission in Geneva in person or by post:

  1. A letter requesting a replacement passport, including details of the cause of loss/ damage, and details of all enclosed documents,
  2. If the previous passport was stolen, a police report from a local police station,
  3. A fully completed passport application form (please remember to include a current contact number and signatures in the relevant boxes). 
  4. A fully completed vetting form (IM32) as per the new regulations of Maldives Immgration. 
  5. Please email a digital passport-sized photograph taken within the last month that complies with the requirements set by Maldives Immigration. Details of these requirements can be found on the website of the Maldives Department of Immigration and Emigration
  6. A copy of applicant’s Maldivian Identification Card
  7. A copy of the data page of the previous passport 
  8. Passport fees (see below).

Please ensure that all the necessary documents are submitted along with your application.

Processing Time

Following receipt of application, passport renewal will take approximately 12 working days. The process will take long if the necessary documents are missing, incomplete or not in accordance with requirements, and/or payment is incorrect.
