Given the latest developments of the pandemic and in anticipation to the summer holidays, the government of the Maldives has announced a lifting of the travel restrictions and circulated an updated travel information document.

There is no longer a quarantine requirement for tourists going to the Maldives.

• However:
  • It is a mandatory requirement for all tourists to present a negative result for a nucleic acid test (PCR test) for Covid-19 on arrival. Effective from 10th September 2020 onwards.

In reference to President’s Office letter No.1-POL(RA)/94/2020/5, dated 25^th March 2020. As a precautionary measure against the outbreak of COVID-19, Maldives Immigration temporarily suspends on-arrival visa for all passengers arriving to Maldives by air and sea, except for individuals with special permission granted by the Government, effective from 27^th March 2020-00:00 hrs.
